If one is convinced that the mandibular complete denture has been successful with effective suction, then other dental professionals might imagine that the patient has favorable condition prior to receiving treatment, or the suction was effective due to a larger denture base than normal.
On the contrary, even in the case where an alveolar residual ridge is progressively resorbed to some extent, it is possible for the mandibular complete denture to be retained with effective suction, if one understands the suction mechanism of the mandibular complete denture. Then, as a result, it has been often reported that patient’s chewing performance and function are definitely improved.
